Guangyin Jing, Professor of the School of Physics and head of the Department of Materials Physics at Northwest University, Xi’an, China, specializes in soft matter and biophysics. He founded the Soft Matter Physics Lab (SMPL) in 2009, with current research interests including active matter, self-propelled particles, fluid dynamics of microswimmers, collective motion, bacterial swimming in biological fluids, and medical applications. His work is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Outstanding Youth Foundation of Shaanxi Province Natural Science.
